The discussions come as the European Union emerges as an important market for Indian goods amid high US tariffs on India.
Between April and October 2025, Indian exports of goods to Germany increased by 7.32% compared to last year, indicating growth in business with the European country, according to a government statement.
Highlighting the government’s initiatives to promote exports, Vivek Thakur, BJP MP who briefed the media about India’s export growth, said, “The result of these initiatives is that the rejection rate of exported Indian products by importing countries is reduced by 12.5 per cent in June 2025 compared to June 2024.”
Thakur pointed out that schemes, such as the Zero Duty Capital Goods Export and Market Access Initiative, kept the export of engineering goods at a robust level between April and October.
