India and the EU are determined to work for a balanced and mutually beneficial free trade agreement, said the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal said on Saturday.
He said that if India and the EU may not agree on all questions, it is confident to reach a “very good agreement”. “India, EU teams, are engaged in intense negotiations for a free trade agreement,” said Goyal.
India and the EU held the 13th round (8-12 September) for negotiations for the agreement. Sefcovic and the agricultural commissioner of the European Commission Christophe Hansen were in India to review the progress of talks with Goyal.
The EU is looking for service concessions in the automotive sector from India. India has provided service concessions in the British business sector as part of a commercial pact between the two countries, which was signed on May 6 of this year.
India has more than 100% samples from the automotive sector.
