The two sides also decided to establish an industry-led India-EU Defense Industry Forum, with formal participation as observers and involving EU member states, as reported by ET.
The forum will boost industrial partnership and explore opportunities in both markets. An annual EU-India dialogue dedicated to security and defense was also announced.
Following the deal, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said India’s defense industry can play a significant role in the EU’s ‘ReArm’ initiative, at a time when it is seeking to diversify its suppliers and reduce dependency risks.
In a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union Commission, Kaja Kallas, the minister said the partnership would become a force multiplier by integrating supply chains to build reliable defense ecosystems and future-ready capabilities.
