India and Poland held the 11th round of Foreign Ministry consultations in New Delhi on Monday, agreeing to accelerate cooperation in defense and security, science and technology, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI).
During the meeting, both sides reiterated their commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The Polish side expressed support for the early conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) State Secretary (West) Sibi George and Polish State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw T Bartoszewski co-chaired the meeting.

The Polish side further reiterated its support for an early conclusion of the India-EU FTA,” the statement added.
Earlier in September, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar held a telephonic conversation with his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski, reiterating India’s stand for an early cessation of hostilities and a lasting solution to the Ukraine conflict.
“I spoke today with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski. He shared his concerns regarding recent developments regarding Poland’s security. I emphasized that India supports an early end to hostilities and a lasting solution to the Ukrainian conflict,” EAM published on X.
Prime Minister Modi visited Poland last year and met his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk and then President Andrzej Sebastian Duda. He also visited important sites that recall the historical ties between the two countries. Prime Minister Modi had termed his visit to Poland special and called the Central European country a “valuable friend” of India.
“My visit to Poland was special. It was after decades that an Indian Prime Minister set foot on Polish soil. This visit provided an opportunity to deepen cooperation with a valued friend. We look forward to establishing closer trade and cultural ties with Poland. Our friendship can certainly contribute to a better planet. I thank the Polish people and government for their warmth,” PM Modi had posted on X.
