India and the European Union (EU) have reiterated their commitment to an early conclusion of the security and defense of EU security and defense agreement.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vikram Misri, met the members of the political and security committee of the European Union (EU) in New Delhi on Friday and exchanged prospects on the latest regional and global developments.

Misri was joined in the meeting by the deputy advisor of national security Pavan Kapoor, the secretary (west) Sibi George and other senior officials.
“The two parties expressed their satisfaction with the growing political commitments and regular sectoral interactions. Discussions focused on the progress of cooperation in India – in various sectors, in particular in the fields of security and defense,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.
“The two parties reiterated their commitment to an early conclusion from the EU security and defense partnership and information security,” said the MEA.
They also impatiently awaited the Indian-EU FTA, the leaders who charged the respective negotiation teams to conclude the agreement by the end of the year.
The PSC delegation of 30 members, during her very first visit to Asia, was led by Delphine Pronk, president of the committee, and included PSC ambassadors of the EU member states as well as officials of the European Commission and the European external action service.
During their two -day working visit to India, the members of the PSC also met the Secretary of Defense, received a briefing on the Information Fusion Center – the Indian Ocean Region (IFC -OIO) and interacted with representatives of the Indian Defense industry.
The EU PSC visit is based on the momentum following the historic visit to the college of EU commissioners in India in February 2025 and reflects the joint commitment to a strategic partnership in India – EU deeper.
There are regular exchanges between India and the EU on security and defense issues thanks to the vast architecture of bilateral dialogue, including in the fields of security and defense, maritime security, cyber and the fight against terrorism.
The two parties also explore the ways for increased cooperation in the defense and manufacturing industry.
