There is a strong possibility that an early harvest agreement be signed before a complete and complete commercial pact expected by the end of the year.
The source also added that almost all key problems linked to the EU-FTA would have been solved, paving the way to one of the most important commercial partnerships between the two regions.
The European Commerce Commissioner Maros Sefcovic and the Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen are visiting India from September 12 to 13 to carry out negotiations on the free trade agreement between India and the European Union, aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two regions.
American commercial deal
Recently, the EU also concluded an agreement with the United States, highlighting the new agreement, price changes and future cooperation plans between the two.
The EU-US trade agreement should bring a certain relief and optimism for investors, because by reducing prices, in particular on the main products such as cars, semiconductors and pharmaceutical products, the agreement reduces costs for manufacturers, improves market access and reduces the risk of trade voltage which is transformed into expensive litigation.
Within the framework of this Agreement, the United States has agreed to reduce its coverage rate on most European goods by 30% to 15%. This rate reduction concerns sensitive sectors such as cars, semiconductors, pharmaceutical products and wood.
However, it is important to note that “with regard to cars and automotive parts, the price ceiling of 15% American will apply in tandem with the EU initiating the procedures for reducing prices vis-à-vis American products”, according to a joint declaration from the two countries.
While certain products will receive additional relief, from September 1, only the price of the most favored nation (MFN) will apply to planes and parts, generic pharmaceuticals and their ingredients, certain unavailable natural resources (for example in cork) and chemical precursors.
