New Delhi, September 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has held a joint telephone call with the president of the European Council Antonio Costa and the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, by revising India-EU relations and future cooperation.
Managers have stressed the importance of India-EU strategic partnership to meet global challenges, promote stability and promote an international rules based on rules.
They welcomed progress in key fields, including trade, technology, investment, innovation, sustainability, defense, security and resilience of the supply chain.
The two parties reaffirmed their commitment to an early conclusion of negotiations on a free trade agreement (ALE) and the implementation of the economic corridor of India-Middle East-Europe (Imeec).
Based on the visit of the college of EU commissioners in India in February, the leaders also discussed the holding of the next India-EU summit in India on an early date, the Prime Minister modifying an invitation to his counterparts.
The conversation also mentioned regional and global problems, including the conflict in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s support for peaceful resolution and stability restoration.
The three leaders agreed to stay in close contact to advance the partnership.
