New Delhi, August 1 (KNN) The Chintan Research Foundation (CRF) recently organized a discussion with high-level closed doors on “India-UE Defense Cooperation: Partnering Europe’s Security Push”, which was held on July 28.
The session brought together European diplomats, Indian industry leaders and strategic experts to explore how the transformation of the defense of India aligns with the evolutionary security priorities of the EU.
Moderate by the veteran journalist Vishnu Som, the dialogue focused on the new EU plan of 800 billion euros “Readiness 2030 (Rearm Europe)”, aimed at stimulating defense autonomy.
The discussions focused on how the growing defense capacities of India – led by initiatives like Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat – can support Europe’s ambitions through joint ventures, technology sharing and co -production.
The president of the CRF, Shishir Priyadarshi, underlined the need to go beyond transactional defense ties. “We have to build a predictable and reliable manufacturing ecosystem,” he said. The German ambassador Philipp Ackermann underlined the quarter-Uukraine Europe work quarter and praised India as a partner with similar views, in particular in underwater collaboration.
Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defense & Aerospace, described the trip from India to a major importer to a potential defense exporter. He underlined the autonomy and evolutionary manufacturing, citing the will of India to offer profitable solutions to European partners.
Damien Syed of the French Embassy reaffirmed the defense as a pillar of the Indo-French partnership, noting the opening to co-development of new technologies.
The accusation of Italy Audit Aurora Russi underlined maritime cooperation in increasing India-Italy, reinforced by recent naval commitments and a defense memorandum of understanding in 2025.
Former ambassador Anil Wadhwa added that Europe is now considered a predictability partner, especially in the naval and maritime construction sectors.
The discussion also covered rare earths, the production of light weapons and the reputation of exports. All parties have echoed confidence in India as a defense of trust.
