Neil Heard asks: Can anyone advise if people who have second homes in the EU before Brexit will win from the summit, will not have to join the 90/180 rule?
There was nothing in the new agreement that will change the rules on this subject.
If you are traveling in the Schengen region, which covers most of the EU and some other European countries, you don’t need a visa but you can only stay for 90 days in all 180 -day period.
The rule applies even if the 90 days are made up of several trips, and also if you stay in more than one country in the Schengen region.
This is the total number of days that counts.
Ireland and Cyprus are not in the Schengen region and British citizens have the right to live and work in Ireland.
But for people with holiday homes in France and other EU countries, the rules do not change.
