In an attempt to finish the first phase of the Pact as soon as possible, India and chief European Union (EU) will begin the next series of talks on the free trade agreement (ALE) proposed on Monday, according to the media.
Due to the uncertain global trade environment, in particular due to the recent pricing actions in the United States (United States), the two parties agreed to conclude the two-phase agreement. The reports added that the EU team will arrive here for the 11th round of negotiations which will continue until May 16.
With the two parties that plan to conclude the second part by the end of this year, the reports stressed that the areas where there is a convergence will be included in the first part of the agreement. Earlier, areas such as investment, government purchases and others were the main objective during talks for the 10th round.
The reports noted that the Indian Commerce Secretary, Sunil Barthwal, said that it was preferable to focus first on basic commercial problems, if some of the areas that are not very fundamental to discuss time. The EU is looking for tax reductions in products such as wines, spirits, meat, poultry, apart from its request for reductions in rights in cars and medical devices, in accordance with reports.
