The European Commission and the High Representative have adopted joint communication describing a “new EU-Indian strategic program”, marking an important step in India-EU relations, according to an official EU press release.
The new EU strategic program also includes the India-Ucurity and Defense partnership, which focuses on improving strategic consultations and joint initiatives, in particular on crisis management, maritime security, cyber defense and the fight against terrorism, and the promotion of industrial defense cooperation. It also focuses on the strengthening of regional connectivity initiatives such as the East-Europe India economic corridor, facilitating the mobility of the workforce and a framework to contact the business world.
