On October 21-22, the Institute organized 2024 EU-India Strategic Dialogue in Delhi in collaboration with the Center Annant Aspen and the Montaigne Institute.
This closed -camera rally brought together civil servants, experts and political decision -makers for two days of frank discussion on shared security, economic and technological challenges, exploring more in -depth collaboration.
The discussions explored the tracks A more strategic UE-Indic relationshipIn particular, in particular, to advance the EU-Indian free trade agreement and the Commerce and Technology Council to stimulate collaboration on shared priorities in trade, technology and innovation.
Geopolitical perspectives highlighted different security opinionsIn particular concerning the actions of Russia in Ukraine and the influence of China in Indo-Pacific. Participants highlighted the need for better mutual understanding and flexible approaches to fight against these tensions, given the distinct regional security problems that each side faces.
Resilience and security cooperation were also important themes, both sides highlighting Diversification of the supply chain and regulatory alignment as essential. Semiconductors and green technologies have been identified as potential areas of cooperation. Maritime security, cybersecurity and digital transformation have also emerged as areas of future collaboration, aimed at strengthening regional security and confidence in a long -term strategic framework.
The dialogue highlighted both the complexity and the opportunity within the EU-India partnership. The objective of meeting these various challenges in the frank and open debate underlined the ambition to build a resilient and balanced partnership prepared for future world changes.
