India and Croatia have discussed the Indian-EU free trade agreement in the long time. Croatia has reiterated its strong support for the first conclusion of the ALE, emphasizing the mutual benefits it will bring to India and the European Union. Prime Minister Modi, who is on his way to New Delhi after his successful visits to Croatia, Canada and Cyprus, had large -scale talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in Banski Dorori in Zagreb. The leaders of the discussions are also impatiently awaiting a first conclusion from the India-EU FTA, which will give a boost to the bilateral trade and the resilience of the supply chain.
The two leaders also agreed that the agreement would unlock new ways for trade, investment and technological collaboration. India appreciated the constant support of Croatia as part of the EU.
They also underlined their common commitment to world peace, democratic values and the expansion of cooperation while the two countries have signed four submarines in the fields of agriculture, cultural exchange, science and technology and the establishment of an Hindi ICCR president in Zagreb. The two nations also decided to formulate a long -term cooperation plan for defense to include joint training, military exchanges and industry partnerships. Managers have agreed to deepen bilateral trade and build resilient and reliable supply chains. The new areas of improved identified cooperation include pharmaceutical products, agriculture, information technologies, clean and digital technologies, renewable energies and semiconductors. Mr. Modi also highlighted growing cooperation in shipbuilding, cybersecurity and defense.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi firmly recommended a peaceful conflict resolution, declaring that, whether in Europe or Asia, the solutions cannot be found on the battlefield. He said that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable paths. Convicing terrorism as the enemy of humanity, Mr. Modi thanked Croatian leadership and the people to be united with India after the recent terrorist attack of Pahalgam.
