The 12th cycle of negotiations is probably in Brussels in July, but an intensual intersessional commitment will take place practically and in person, in addition to political discussions. The two parties aim to conclude the FTA by the end of 2025. Negotiators have also made substantial progress on the text of digital trade facilitation provisions such as electronic e-invoice, electronic authentication, e-contract contract, paperless trade, online consumer protection, spam, digital identities and open government data.
“The objective of the negotiators was on the basic elements of a future agreement. The objective is to get closer to an economically significant access to the trade in goods, services, investments and rules of origin,” said the official.
