
Brussels, June 11: India and the European Union (EU) signed an agreement on trilateral cooperation on Wednesday which focuses on joint priorities and supports pilot projects in third countries.
The agreement has advanced the commitment of India-EU in connectivity, the East-Europe Economic Corridor India-Middle (IMEC), the green expedition and clean energy was signed in the presence of the Minister of External Affairs (EAM) S. Jaishankar and Jozef Sikela, European commissioner for the international partnership.
The two parties noted that the signing of the Trilateral Cooperation Agreement will benefit in the world in the world. “To fully unlock the potential of the EU-Indian partnership, we have signed today a cooperation agreement on trilateral cooperation with Jaishankar of the Minister of External Affairs. This new initiative will support pilot projects in third countries, focused on sustainable development.
Eam Jaishankar also organized a meeting with Maros Sefcovic, European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Safety in Brussels, the two parties recognized the discussions on a complete and significant free trade agreement (ALE) between India and the European Union.

Recognized the progress of our discussions for a complete, balanced and significant AFT agreement between India and the EU. Agreed that he would breed our strategic partnership, which quickly acquires new dimensions and facets, ”published EAM on X.
Earlier in the day, EAM also interacted with the president of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola. They discussed the additional strengthening of the parliamentary links of India-EU, based on the common values of democracy and pluralism.
EAM Jaishankar appreciated its positive feelings on the progress of the Indian-EU in trade, technology and security. During his interactions with members of the European Parliament – Angelika Niebler, Urmas Paet, Winkler Gyla, Vladimir PREBILIC and Pilar Del Castillo, EAM welcomed the support of European leaders for stronger India links.
He also appreciated their understanding of India’s law to defend himself against terrorism while the two parties exchanged perspectives on global developments and regional issues. Tuesday, Eam Jishankar called the Prime Minister of Belgium Bart de Wever transmitting the warm greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two leaders discussed cooperation in trade, security and defense, investment, clean energy, semiconductors and innovation between the two countries. The Minister of External Affairs is on an official visit to France, EU and Belgium from June 8 to 14 to deepen the friendly relations of India and give renewed momentum to current cooperation in various fields.
