
NEW DELHI: The Minister of the Union of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal met with the European Commerce Commissioner, Maros Sefcovic to discuss the free trade agreement (ALE) between India and the European Union (EU).

According to the European Union, the EU-Indic commercial talks take a pace, and the two parties aim to conclude an agreement by the end of 2025.
The Indian Minister of External Affairs Jaishankar asked Dutch support to accelerate negotiations on the Indian Union-European Union (ALE), which India hopes to conclude by the end of 2025.
During their last meeting, India and the EU reaffirmed their commitment to solving the problems pending concerning their ambitious free trade agreement (ALE). During this meeting, India stressed the importance of giving equal attention to non -tariff barriers (NTB) in parallel with tariff negotiations to ensure significant progress.
The EU and India launched two research and innovation initiatives from the EU Commerce and Technology Council in India (TTC), with a total investment of 41 million euros (RS 394 crore). These initiatives will stimulate collaborative solutions to pressing environmental challenges and will promote advanced technological progress.
