
Anthony Agotha, Ambassador of the Grand Special Envoy for the Climate and the Environment, European External Action Service, underlined the negotiations of the EU-Indian free trade agreement. With the support of leaders such as the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Agotha stressed the importance of this agreement for the two parties.
While speaking with Ani, Agotha said: “Well, what I understand is the president von der Leyen of the European Commission and Prime Minister Modi who both gave the political signal that there should be renewed momentum to bring this free trade agreement through the finish line, and I think it is a very important political push now that the negotiators must follow in this spirit”
He added: “Obviously, each free trade agreement with any other country is adapted to the specific situations of these countries, and I am absolutely convinced that we will get there, and I think it is also very important that we arrive there for the interests of the EU and India.”
Agotha also underlined the Green Agreement of the European Union and underlined how the EU has “decoupled” the economic growth of emissions.
While addressing the media on Wednesday, Agotha said: “We (EU) are reliable, we have the rule of law, we have the largest internal market, and with you, the two largest democracies, open markets, pluralist companies, we are here to stay … We launched our Green Deal with our rolled industrial affair because the Action Action Package.
