
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the partnership between India and the European Union, calling the strategic partnership between them as “organic and natural”. In addition, he said that a free trade agreement between India and the European Union can be expected by the end of this year.
In her joint press statement after her meeting with the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in Hyderabad House today, the Prime Minister said: “We had sincere and significant discussions, yesterday on various questions. We asked our teams to work on a mutually advantageous free trade agreement and to carry it out by the end of this year.”
Prime Minister Modi said many decisions have been made to raise and accelerate the partnership between India and the EU.
“This visit by the president of the European Commission and the College of Commissioners in India is unprecedented. It is not only the first visit of the European Commission in India, but it is also the first full commitment of the European Commission in a single country. This is one of the first visits to the new mandate of the Commission (European). I welcome them all in India.”
“Two decades of strategic partnership between India and the EU are natural and organic, and in its foundation are confidence and democratic values, shared commitment to shared progress and prosperity. In this spirit, today and yesterday, 20 problems of ministerial level were detained. We had sincere and significant discussions, green growth, security, skills and mobility have been prepared.”
PM Modi has announced that India and the EU decided to start a space dialogue. He said that India and the EU decided to hold the Hydrogen Vert forum and the Offshore wind turbines summit ”
“We have discussed the future on investment protection and the GI agreement to strengthen the investment framework. In the field of technology and innovation, a reliable and secure value chain is our shared priority. We also agree on the increase in semiconductor cooperation, AI, in high performance computer, and 6g. We have also decided to start a spatial dialogue. Shared, and in this direction, we have strong cooperation.
He announced that India and the EU would cooperate on cybersecurity, the fight against terrorism and maritime security. He said: “Our growing cooperation on security issues is a symbol of mutual trust. We will go forward in cooperation on cybersecurity, maritime security and the fight against terrorism.”
Prime Minister Modi has expressed his confidence that the Economic Corridor of Europe in the Middle East in India (IMEC) will prove to be an engine to stimulate global trade, sustainable growth and appropriation.
He said: “In the field of connectivity, concrete measures will be taken to advance the economic corridor of Europe in the Middle East (IMEC).
PM Modi and Ursula von der Leyen held the level of delegation and bilateral talks at Hyderabad House in Delhi. Leyen arrived in Delhi on Thursday for a two -day visit to India.
