
The Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth held a meeting with the Defense and Espace Commissioner, to the European Commission, Andrius Kubilius, here today. Discussions focused on improving European India-Union (EU) for bilateral defense and security cooperation, with particular emphasis on maritime commitments and information sharing in the Indo-Pacific region.
The two leaders explored the avenues to strengthen the industrial collaboration of defense, in particular the participation of European defense companies in joint projects and co -production opportunities in India. They also deliberated on the modalities of Indian involvement in the permanent structured cooperation of the EU (PESCO) and other European development initiatives aimed at promoting strategic partnerships.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense, Andrius Kubilius visits India as part of the delegation led by the president of the European Commission, accompanied by the college of commissioners. This high-level commitment underlines the growing defense and security links between India and the EU, strengthening their commitment to an international order based on rules and regional stability in Indo-Pacific.
The two parties reiterated their intention to deepen cooperation in several areas, recognizing the importance of collaboration efforts to meet emerging security challenges. The meeting marked an important step towards strengthening the strategic links of India-EU, paving the way for better defense cooperation in the future.
