Defense discussions focus on maritime security, industrial cooperation

The Undersecretary to the Defense of India, Sanjay Seth, today met in New Delhi with the European Union Commissioner for Defense and Espace, Andrius Kubilius, With whom he discussed the cooperation of the sector, with a particular emphasis on maritime commitments and the sharing of information in Indo-Pacific, according to a statement from the Indian Ministry of Defense.

Seth and Kubilius also discussed how to improve industrial cooperation, in particular the participation of European defense companies in joint projects and co -productions in India.

Finally, the possibility that India participates in “permanent structured cooperation” of the EU and other European development projects has been explored. The meeting took place in the context of the visit of the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the College of Commissioners (February 27-28).
