Since 2017, The strategic dialogue of Europe-India from the Montaigne Institute convened each year In a trail format 1.5, bringing together political decision -makers, business leaders, experts from the reflection group and academics on both sides To explore new ideas and opportunities to strengthen Europe-India relations. It offers an informal framework that completes the official channels, promoting open and frank exchanges on mutual interests and challenges that hinder deeper cooperation. The inclusion of the targeted participation of companies enriches dialogue with practical commercial information from the real world experience. Each year, discussions generate political recommendations and usable proposalshelping to lead progress to stronger bilateral links.
Our 2024 edition
The strategic dialogue of Europe-India 2024 (October 21-22) was co-organized with the Antant Center and the European Institute of Security Studies (EUISS). This year’s sessions have covered:

- How the Russian-Ukraine war has an impact,,
- OUR Tendas of cooperation in resilience of the defense and supply chain,
- and to what extent the EU-Indian partnership can be motivated by Strategic technological cooperation.
A key goal: to strengthen EU consistency
The Montaigne Institute has always aimed to promote greater coherence and alignment between the 27 EU member states in their commitment to India. Europe-Indian strategic dialogue is completed by Intra-European exchanges Implying the European Commission, the Member States and the European external action service, promoting stronger internal coordination. The 2024 edition of the dialogue arrives at a pivotal moment, with the EU establishing higher ambitions and prioritizing the development of a new EU-India strategic program. Our goal: a pragmatic roadmap for the future
The strengthening of the EU-India partnership alongside robust bilateral links between India and the EU member member states offers a practical path. As a priorities shared between EU member states and with India, are increasingly aligning in political areas such as the resilience of the supply chain, the deterrence of economic coercion or diversification external investments, Placing cooperation in economic security at the heart of our common program becomes more and more essential.
