New Delhi: On Free trade agreement Between India and European UnionMinister of External Affairs S Jaishankar said, “It’s time we continue.” The Economic corridor of India-Middle East (Imeec) may have slowed down due to current tensions in Western Asia, but it has the potential to connect the Far East to Western Europe and beyond.
Speaking during a function at the India International Center, he mentioned that trade, climate, digitization and artificial intelligence were “natural subjects” between the two countries. Speaking in the same way, Imeec, although slowed down, is progressing, with the initial work of the Middle East countries and of India that has started. It was, he said, “an Atlantic company in Pacific.”
Jaishankar expressed his concern about the slowdown in the transfer of development resources to the world in development to combat climate change. The delay “was not a secret,” he said, adding that “a climate accounting exercise” was on.
He regretted that there is now “protectionism in the name of climate change” and said that it was quite difficult to draw attention to the subject when India welcomed the Summit G20.
