The focus on Global Britain that followed the 2016 referendum led to a significant shift in British foreign policy. Alongside the quest for new trade deals, the Indo-Pacific trend has also marked something of a reorientation. And both of these trends involved a greater focus on ties with India.
UK in a Changing Europe has partnered with the King’s India Institute to produce this report assessing the state of UK-India relations. This highlights the density of ties between the two countries and the different factors that could shape relations in the future.
It covers trade, migration, cultural ties, Indian politics and the diaspora, the role of the diaspora, British Indian voters, the upcoming elections in the UK and India, and the future of relations between the United Kingdom and India.
